Regardless of any PCIe specifications AMD presents its high-end graphics card Radeon R9 295X2. You should swallow around 500 watts while playing and offer enough 3D power, liquid represent all DirectX 11 games at 4K screens - in maximum detail level course. To curb the enormous power consumption, AMD sells the Radeon R9 295X2 with integrated water cooling radiator together. The latter is designed to fit into a hard disk tray.
On the 30.5 cm long board sit two Hawaii graphics chips in maximum configuration (the 2816 shader cores, GCN 1.1) that is normally used only on the AMD single GPU graphics card Radeon R9 290X and FirePro W9100. They run at 1020 MHz - thus faster than the models mentioned. In order for the Radeon R9 295X2 reached a 3D performance that provides the all graphics cards available in the shade. In 3DMark Fire Strike it should reach 15,862 points, while Nvidia Titan Black is specified with 9878 points (Radeon R9 290X: 9781) according to AMD. Compared to the Radeon R9 290X the 295X2 is faster, according to 3DMark 62 percent. For compute-intensive GPGPU applications, the Radeon R9 295X2 theoretically up to 11.5 teraflops with simple and 2.87 teraflops in double precision ready. The card supports for such applications OpenCL 1.2 and - if the driver is ready - and OpenCL 2.0. Each GPU are exclusively 4 GB of memory available, which is connected with data lines 512 (2 x 320 GByte / s).
The Radeon R9 295X2 needs two 8-pin power connector from the power supply, which must be supplied each with its own 12-volt rail with 28 amperes - so 340 watts instead of according to ATX specification maximum of 150 watts per 8-pin connector.
According to AMD, the Radeon R9 295X2 will be available in the fourth week of April 1310 euros. It is three times as expensive as the single-GPU variant Radeon R9 290X (440 euros).
